HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ME!

January 1, 2011. New years eve here, we made some party to celebrate it! We dance, we eat a bunch of meat, we play fireworks. Lots of laugh and hugs. 

and finally, I've got a little surprise from my friends! (actually I already know that, hha) Happy Birthday to me! I'm 20 years old now. Wohoo! getting older!

MAYA HAYUK

This is one of my favorite artist, Maya Hayuk. I love her paint, the colors in real life are florescent and overwhelming and super tight. with amazing colours, so alive, a bit psychedelic. Maya does walls, canvas, and video. Her works been featured in vodka commercials for Absolute and adjoined computer laptops for Sony. She travels the world showing her colorful works on walls and canvases when shes's not laying low in NYC. Below just a small sample of the talent Maya holds and what shes's creating today.

With white walls, rooms take on the characteristics of their inhabitants, such as in all of room with its Ikea shelves of toys, books, and trinkets. They let the child as a work of art. And it's useful. Dreamhouse had been superseded by a cutaway Brutalist model. ♥ it!

Self-Taught Learner of Lissy Trullie

Yes I'm part time stalker. Sometimes we have to do it to find references or might just find any inspiration. Forget it! it's not that I want to discuss here anyway. I saw some picts of a beautiful girl which she's so fuck'in cool. Yes, she is Lissy Trulie. I liked her style. Everytime she goes she always wore nice clothes, a bit 'edgy' course. In fact she is a supermodel like Agyness Deyn. Lissy Trullie studied in graphic design. She's performed at art openings, but soon gravitated towards the downtown rock scene and spent time working as a model, a dishwasher, a janitor, and a disc jockey at the Beatrice Inn. She has appeared in the fashion magazines too.

Lissy Trullie is an American singer and former model. She's fronts a four piece rock band which includes Trullie on vocals and guitar, Josh Elrod on drums, Eben D’Amico, formerly bassist with Saves The Day, on lead guitar, and Ian Fenger on bass and released their debut EP, Self-Taught Learner, in February 2009. You might be listen the key track: "Boy Boy".

Not only beautiful she also can play musical instruments like guitars. FYI, she's a bi! while I was afraid because I liked her. But heeeey! I'm straight whatever! just thinking of  if I'm just liked her style and many people make of her as an inspiration. She's one of the tough woman I ever seen.

Spent The Night with Bon Iver

Started from the Twilight movie soundtrack, I heard Bon Iver collaborated with St. Vincent and then their song was used in the some season of a British drama "Skins" I'm getting curious about this band . Bon Iver is a band founded in 2007 by American indie-folk, singer-songwriter Justin Vernon. The band now also consists of Michael Noyce, Sean Carey, and Matthew McCaughan. All of their songs have a character who can bring my mood soluble, lots of fantasy. Listen to key track such as: "re: Stacks", "Blinsided", and "Beach Baby". oo..how much I liked all of their song. Maybe already be hundreds of times I've listened to the song and never ever get bored. I think this is the best band I've heard so far. For those of you who also like Bon Iver, I really appreciate it :)

The vocalist, Justin Vernon is an influential person in Bon Iver. He played all the instruments during recording and each song was heavily edited with a large number of overdubs. He wrote the lyrics for the album by recording a word-less melody and listening to the recording over and over while writing words according to the sound of the syllables of the melody. Damn..I love him so much! he played acoustic guitar and has a good voice. He also released two solo albums “Self-Record” and “Hazeltons”.

The man behind the ‘Bon Iver’, Justin Vernon also included played in Volcano Choir and Megafaun. The collaboration of Justin Vernon’s Bon Iver project. Volcano Choir is an assembly of Wisconsinites Jon Mueller, Chris Rosenau, Jim Schoenecker, Daniel Spack, Justin Vernon, and Thomas Wincek. I think the key track of 'em is: "Still" recovering from Bon Iver song "Woods". They add a bit beat up on drums and tone.  Here's Volcano Choir:

Run Toto Run

Run Toto Run are a Manchester-based three piece electro pop band consisting of front woman Rachael Kichenside, Michael Kelly and Matt Farthing. Together since May 2008 the band rapidly experienced successes, playing their third gig at Glastonbury, achieving national radio play before they’d played their first gig and getting on the In The City industry list by October. Their sound was acoustic and they were joined by a double bass player, this rapidly changed to an electro sound, whilst maintaining occasional use of acoustic instruments. Genres indie pop, british, folks, electronic.
